Camping du Mettey is an eco-friendly campsite in the Vosges Mountains, within the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. Our wooded, 5.5-hectare green campsite is on the edge of the forest, just 12 minutes from Gérardmer and La Bresse, and close to Alsace. An ideal location for exploring all the wonders of the Vosges Mountains!
For 30 years now, we’ve been offering our guests a 100% natural and eco-friendly campsite, based on our values of sharing and encounters. Nestled above the town of Vagney, in the lush Vosges Mountains, the eco-campsite Camping du Mettey offers genuine art of living, nourished by our love of nature and our commitment to the environment. Our natural swimming pool is filtered by plants, and our grocery store features local products and specialties.
We believe that by valuing local know-how and respecting the land, we can move forward together towards a more serene future for everyone. This is also what pushed us to design our glamping accommodations differently, especially our écologîtes.
These comfortable, 50 m² eco-chalets were built with an investment of 1.7 million euros and were awarded second prize for national wooden tourist constructions in 2015.
Authenticity, eco-responsibility, sharing, conviviality, and introducing you to our Vosges Mountains: these are some of the many values that guide us daily. While protecting the environment is a top priority, we also think that respecting each other and exchanging ideas are also very important.
Camping du Mettey is fiercely committed to maintaining the balance between humans and nature. On a daily basis, this means applying the European Ecolabel standards for tourist accommodations. This official label is a guarantee of environmental quality, AFNOR® certified and valid on a European scale.
Whether you prefer a sporty mountain bike ride or a leisurely family outing, on roads, greenways or in the forest, the Vosges is the perfect place for a trip on two wheels. In all, there are hundreds of signposted kilometres waiting for you, from developed greenways to forest trails and other routes in the heart of this enchanted countryside.
nature blooms once again, and the temperatures begin to rise. Everyone slowly comes out of their dens to get some fresh air. It’s a great time to set off on an adventure through the beautiful Vosges Mountains to discover Gérardmer, Longemer, Retournemer, lakes, waterfalls, and mountain paths. There is no shortage of activities for exploring our welcoming nature!
Outdoor activities are in full swing!
Hiking, cycling, or mountain biking, storytelling evenings around a campfire, wellness/relaxation trails: there’s something for all tastes! It’s the perfect time to cool off in our natural, plant-filtered swimming pool or to escape into a book from our open-air library!
In Gérardmer, enjoy water sports and the Acro-Sphere adventure park. In La Bresse, there are plenty of hiking trails to explore, as well as the Bol d’Air park and its Fantasticâble zip line.
The Vosges Mountains trade a bit of green for bright shades of orange, yellow, and red. Nature is preparing to rest. The light takes on an exceptional golden hue, and the air is both warm and cool.
If you’re lucky, the snow will cover the mountains with an immaculate coat just before we close the campsite for winter until the end of March.
